Designed specifically to introduce all forms of Dance including Jazz, Classical, Tapping, basic Acrobatics and Singing to 2-4yrs. This is valuable grounding to develop ‘all round’ students, building confidence, interaction with peers, whilst introducing musical appreciation/rhythm and co-ordination.
Important: There is no Parent interaction/participation in these classes and is not a form of Gymbaroo or the likes of such…the waiting room is in close proximity to the Studio where the Talented Tinies Classes are conducted.
All Music is suitable and in conjunction with the latest ‘hits’ and visual stimulation associated with the likes of the Wiggles, Hi-5, Hits for Kids, Fairies, Disney, ABC Channel, High School Musical, Glee etc and the CSTD’S ‘COME DANCE WITH ME’.
TWINKLE TOE TAPPERS (Saturday – 3-5yrs as at 31st December, 2018) 45 mins

A 45 minute Class to introduce the Tinies to ‘Tapping!’ Tap Shoes, motivation and patience…are required of course! A challenging art form; noisy, fun, rhythmical and you are on your way to appreciate the world of Tap -creating Music with your Feet!
TINIES ‘A’ BOUNCE 45 mins (5yrs) and TINIES ‘B’ BOP 45 mins (6yrs)

‘TINIES BOUNCE & TINIES BOP’ combines all the Technique, Combinations and Musicality of previous age groups, naturally introducing more advanced combinations and routines.
At this age, Tapping is also a genre to consider which extends their time with us by an additional 45 minutes.
TUTU TINIES (Up to 6yrs) 45 mins
$12.50 Per Class Per Term Basis and $16.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
The perfect way to encourage the young Ballerinas of the future combining grace, discipline and body awareness in a 45 minute class.
Classical Ballet technique is introduced with a less formal approach to the art but embracing the creativity and poise behind all Ballerinas and their grace incorporating props such as scarfs, wands, stars, hoops etc.
TINY TUMBLERS ACROBATS (4-6yrs) 45 mins
$12.50 Per Class Per Term Basis and $16.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
An introductory Class to ‘Acrobatics’, where the intention is to guide the Tinies in the basics of this genre. Exercises in flexibility and strength with the technique behind Splits, Cartwheels and Back-Bends for example, are covered.
This Class is very ‘hands-on’ with correct safety mats and apparatus to build confidence and knowledge in its first steps in preparation to the more advanced repertoire and tumbling. This class is of a 45 minute duration.
JAZZ/HIP-HOP CLASSES - TEEN / GENERAL
$15.50 Per Class Per Term Basis and $20.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
This exciting Class offers a cross between traditional Jazz Technique & the more modern free style expression of today’s popular ‘funk/hip-hop’. Incorporating the sounds of Pop, R & B and your favourite Artists, these classes include Warm-Up exercises, Progressions and Routines emphasising stamina, projection and performance all technique based.
TAPPING (CSTD Tapping and Tapatak Oz Syllabi)
$14.50 Per Class Per Term Basis and $20.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
Whether its recreational Tapping or accolades in Tapping you are after; these Classes are designed to stimulate and challenge your feet with concepts and choreography as diverse as Gene Kelly’s Shoe Shuffle through to the more industrial off-beat style of the Tap Dogs or the urban, percussive ‘stomping’ technique.

ACROBATICS
Acrobatics is the art of tumbling, contortion, flexibility, agility and strength, combined into one to coincide with Dance in particular. The main apparatus used is the Floor (after perfecting Skills on Tumbling mats), along with other Props. Although Acrobatics is a ‘thrilling’ and popular art, a certain degree of ‘skill’ and ‘natural’ flair is required.
Individual assessment will be applied to all Students and levels are broken up into:

The Study of Classical Ballet is from where all correct Dance technique is derived, the most disciplined, most rewarding and creative. Classes are structured in CSTD Syllabus format.
It is expected that all Students wishing to participate in an Examination attend a minimum of TWO Classical Ballet Classes per week and should be discussed at the time of your Enrolment.
Each grade from Grade 1 – Premier Danseur have two Classes per week scheduled. Grade 6 Students should also commence attending a Pointe Class in preparation for Major Classical repertoire.
All Classical students intending to enter an Examination should include the Stretch/Flexibility/Extension Class to further develop their strength and other important elements that syllabus classes do not provide.
ELITE TROUPE CLASSES – 8 – 16 & Under and SENIOR

Elite Classes will be structured similarly to our previous “PERFORMANCE” classes; like a Jazz/Hip Hop Class however your repertoire will include Technical Exercises from Examination Syllabi, Progressions, Dance Content of various types, Performance and Projection. One’s Dancing should be taken seriously and with intent, striving for a High Performance Stand to be eligible for Competitions/Convention/Performance Work where necessary.
OPEN JFH (JAZZ/FUNK/HIP HOP) – 15 Yrs + Only
$16.00 Per Class Per Term Basis and $20.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
This Class is designed to cover the JFH genres. Guest Teachers are invited to assist in further developing Dance Technique and Motivation. A class for all dancers with no competition or concert commitments, this will be an exciting and challenging Class comprised of many Perth leading Dancers/Performers in today’s Industry. Dancers have the opportunity to enrol as a regular member of the class or can be attended on a casual basis.
LYRICAL (Open Age – Incorporating Classical/Lyrical/Contemporary)
$15.50 Per Class Per Term Basis and $20.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
LYRICAL DANCE is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques and challenges one to attempt to show the meaning of the music through Choreography and Interpretation. Lyrical dance is expressive, subtle yet dynamic, expressing emotions through movement.
A solid ballet based technique is an essential component of this style, which is mainly performed to music with lyrics. The lyrics become a driving force and key inspiration for the movement – but of paramount importance in Lyrical Dance, continuation of movement incorporating pauses, glances, contractions and gestures add to the songs climax. This Class will have a strong influence courtesy of the Jason Winters Contemporary Syllabus.
Although Lyrical Dance is stereotypically choreographed to music that is slow or downbeat, melodic and sweet-sounding, upbeat, aggressive styles of music are frequently used and can be of any genre; including pop, rock, hip hop and R&B styles…
LYRICAL EXPRESSION/EXTENSION (9 & Under-16 & Under)
$15.50 Per Class Per Term Basis and $20.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
Due to the age diversity, this class will carry a similar tone and purpose to that of the Open/Senior Class but also concentrate on the ‘technique’ behind Lyrical and the Jason Winters Contemporary Syllabus from 14 & Under.
This Syllabus consists of a Foundation Grade and Levels 1-6 providing a comprehensive collection of training philosophies and exercises for Contemporary movements.
Throughout the Levels, the Foundation is laid for a strong, focused and fluid Contemporary Dancer with building blocks in Graham, Cunningham, Jazz, Classical, Yoga, Pilates and Jason Winters own circular sense of movement. This Syllabus truly creates the platform and provides the path for the evolution of Contemporary Dance for the future.
Although CLASSICAL CLASS is NOT compulsory to enrol in this class, ONLY students with a STRONG technical/classical technique base will be selected to COMPETE in our Troupe categories
Combined with more fluent, controlled and graceful movements, we hope this Class will inspire one to ‘PERFORM’ from ‘within’ and develop an all-round performer.
STRETCH/FLEXIBILITY/EXTENSION (10yrs+)
$14.50 Per Class Per Term Basis and $20.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
This class will be a nice alternative for Students to further work towards ‘flexibility’ and ‘strength’ outside of Jazz and further their ‘WOW’ factor in technique and power moves which today’s dance industry demands!
HIP HOP
$15.00 Per Class Per Term Basis and $20.00 Casual PAYG Per Class
HIP HOP DANCE is a form of street dance but focuses more on upright moves as opposed to Break-dance which is better known for its floor-orientated movements.
Over the last two decades, other funk dance styles have evolved separately and been incorporated into the Hip Hop culture such as ‘Popping’, ‘Locking’…and more recently ‘Tutting’.
Today, many Dance Studios offer Hip Hop classes of some sort. As Hip Hop dancing is such a broad genre, the Choreographer has much more freedom for personal interpretation often mixing various styles freely. Studio-Choreographed Hip Hop is widely accepted today which TPC specialises in with experienced Teachers.

A Class for all ages! This class is based on various dance moves and incorporates the core principles of Ballet and Pilates. A great cardio workout, this class is highly addictive and will have you moving, stretching and toning all at once to some funky cool tunes!

TRIPLE THREAT DANCER – SENIOR/OPEN - Enrol in 4 Main Genres; Open JFH/Tap/Lyrical and Hip Hop and receive Senior Elite Status with ‘FREE’ Senior Elite Modern Troupe class. (Please note, Open JFH is NOT the Senior Modern troupe… The Senior Modern troupe will be on Tuesday evenings from 8.00 – 9.00 pm).
UNLIMITED DANCE PASS $850.00 per term - UNLIMITED dance classes at student’s current standard and skill level including multiple Troupes and Specialty Classes (Stretch, Leaps & Turns etc.)
FAMILY DISCOUNT (4 OR MORE) - 4th Child receives tuition at 50% Discount and any children thereafter FREE (4th child is determined from Eldest to Youngest).
EXAMINATIONS
Examinations give the Students a definite goal to reach and a sense of Pride and Achievement. We offer Examinations in the areas of Modern Jazz, Tapping, Classical, Theatrical, Contemporary Studies and the new Performing Arts Syllabus. Exam Classes are taken separately (some exceptions) from standard Classes to provide extra personal attention in this area.
COMPETITIONS
COMPETITION work is available in 2 categories; TROUPES and SOLOS/DUOS/TRIOS. TPC plans to compete in the April, June Long Weekend and July School Holiday Competitions at this stage. We are looking at other prospective competitions to compete at also throughout the year with additional information to follow. Although our intention is to promote Performance experience and fun, a high level of dedication should be a priority at all times… Opportunities to compete both locally and nationally, possibly internationally will be broadcast throughout the year.
ELITE TROUPE ENROLMENT
Please understand that TROUPE is of a ‘Competitive Level’ – Students who wish to perform in a Modern Troupe for example are expected to attend; a Jazz Class, Classical Class, Lyrical Class and Jazz Exam to ‘deem’ a strong Competitive Level – although TROUPE is encouraged to be FUN and a TEAM EFFORT, this is COMPETITION STATUS just like competitive Sports such as Soccer, Football, Netball, Basketball where you are graded and selected. It is at my discretion to decide whether I enter 3 x 12 & Under Modern Troupes of 20 Competitors each or 1 with 60 students. I would strongly recommend you discuss your Childs enrolment with reference to TROUPE selection. TROUPE work will commence immediately.
ALL TROUPE participants are expected to extend their commitment right through to our End of Year Production.
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish for your child to COMPETE on a Solo/Duo/Trio Level in 2018 it will be COMPULSORY to enrol in a Classical or Lyrical Class from the age of 9yrs either in an Examination Format or Open/General Class. Obviously, this does not apply to the Genres of Tapping, Acrobatics and Singing Entries. Technique, Flexibility and Strength are obvious contributing factors to success at Competitions in addition to a confident presence on stage with expression and entertainment value!
ANNUAL PRODUCTION – CELEBRATING 30 YEARS!!
CONFIRMATION OF VENUE is to be expected between mid-late February this year.
This Event will ‘Showcase’ the Achievements and Talent of TPC, beginning with our Talented Tinies to Professional performers. Obviously, participation is not compulsory however, we like to encourage all associated with TPC to perform where possible and celebrate our achievements for the year.
ALL COSTUMES for our Annual Production, Troupe Competitions and the CSTD Convention are manufactured by our Costume Department & Professional Costume Designers. Solo/Duo/Trio Costumes are the responsibility of the Entrant to co-ordinate and organise. Information relevant to this will be distributed throughout the Year.
